What was it like attending the 2026 National Congress in Finansforbundet?
It was exciting to gain insight into how we and other banks view our sector, the challenges we face now and, in the future, and how we can best address them.
What made the biggest impression on you?
How much influence our own delegation actually has on the political direction of Finansforbundet over the next three years.
It’s great that, as a union representative, you can help shape that direction.
If you had to describe the congress in three words, what would they be?
Rewarding, influence and insight.
What will you remember most from the congress?
The Danish labour market model, and the fact that we should never take it for granted and the fact that we need to raise awareness of the Danish model among members and non-members, particularly younger members.
Another thing that has been on my mind is how significant a role international companies such as Revolut may play in the Danish financial sector in the future.
What would you say to another union representative or member considering attending the next Congress?
Go for it. You’ll have the opportunity to influence the union’s political programme. You’ll also gain insight into how other banks view the sector and how they deal with their challenges.
