From all of us to all of you: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Can you feel the Christmas peace, or are you still hurrying around to get everything done? Regardless, we at Finansforbundet in Nordea would like to wish you a very merry Christmas.
A lot has happened in 2023. Our probably biggest member meeting ever was held in March. Namely our Annual General Meeting with a total of 900 participants. A third participated at Crowne Plaza in Ørestad and the rest joined either from home or as participants in the 31 local events that were held throughout Denmark.
If you missed the Annual General Meeting, or if you want to repeat the success, mark 19 April 2024 in your calendar – the date on which we will meet for the next Annual General Meeting.
This summer, we entered a new company collective agreement with Nordea. The negotiations were tough, but we managed to land an agreement in which ‘the pie was expanded’: The total increase in salary and pension for us in Nordea is higher than what was agreed in the standard collective agreement for everyone in the sector.
Our president during the past four years, Dorrit Brandt, was elected president of Finansforbundet in September. It is the third time out of four that Finansforbundet’s president comes from Unibank/Nordea. The election of Dorrit meant that the Finansforbundet in Nordea also got a new presidency, as Kasper Skovgaard Pedersen was appointed as ad interim president, while Mette Balck Mejlby continues as vice president.
We are your union in both good times and bad times. Over the course of the year, hundreds of members have received sparring and advice from union representatives and advisors, and we have assisted in numerous personnel matters.
Thank you so much to the 150 union, senior union and working environment representatives for being the members' spokespersons locally and helping to ensure better conditions. At the moment, an election of union representatives for the coming two years is in process. Huge congratulations to those newly and re-elected and many thanks for your efforts to those of you who stop or take a break.
It has been a pleasure to meet a lot of colleagues at our many visibility events in e.g. Metro and Hermes Hus, at member meetings and other occasions.
We are grateful for your support to the community, and we would like to bring you even closer by placing a further focus on involvement, influence and transparency. If you have any wishes for Finansforbundet in Nordea, please contact us.
We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
