How much is my holiday supplement?
Every year, most employees get a holiday supplement equivalent to 3.25% of their annual salary. This is more than three times higher than the statutory supplement of 1.00% of the gross salary, which is what many private organisations pay.
When do I get the holiday supplement?
In the financial sector, the holiday supplement is paid to you once or twice a year.
- Once a year: 1 May
- Twice a year: 1 September and 31 May
Special rules apply if you leave your job:
- If you leave your job in the period of January 1st to April 30th, you will receive a special holiday supplement of 2.25% covering the preceding calendar year and the current calendar year until the time of leaving. In addition, you will receive a holiday allowance of 12.5% for any holiday you didn’t take.
- If you leave in the period of May 1st to December 31st, you will already have received your special holiday supplement with your salary for May.
