Digitalisation in the EU banking sector - an EU proejct
Finansforbundet works with various European partners in the finance sectors to be able to understand the changes in the European finance sector. By working together across borders we are able to support our members by gathering best practice examples from around Europe. LUCK is an EU project that gathers unions, employers and academia focusing on the impact of digitalization and AI in the banking sector.
EU-funded project LUCK, thanks to a wide international partnership, has produced:
- a browsable database collecting the best practices in the finance sector and beyond
- a guidelines set, both theoretical and practical, supporting social actors and EWC members willing to negotiate digitalisation-related matters
- a course aimed at EWC members
At the heart of digital transformation, European Works Councils (EWCs) are vital to ensure that AI is implemented respecting workers' rights, promoting fairness and transparency.
Digitalisation and union work has no borders. Even in Denmark we have several members working in transnational finance companies with activities throughout Europe. The rise of AI and new technology is already widespread in the European finance sector and finance workers feel the impact of this development.
By working together across borders we are able to support our members by gathering best practice examples and creating contact networks that we can consult when needed. This is the reason why Finansforbundet seeks international cooperation, and why we have been part of the LUCK project headed by the Italian finance union FISAC CGIL along with other European finance unions and a research team.
