Senior part-time employment
When you turn 60, you will usually be entitled to reduce your working hours – with no effect on the pension contributions for up to 7 years.
Finansforbundet has made this possible through the collective agreements. This means the majority of employees have the right to reduce their working hours from age 60 if they have worked for the organisation for at least 5 years.
How does senior part-time employment work?
Here are 3 examples:
- If you have turned 60, you are entitled to reducing your weekly working hours to 30.
- If you have turned 62, you are entitled to 26 hours a week.
- If you have turned 64, you are entitled to 22 hours a week.
In all these examples, you will receive your pension contributions for at least 7 years as normal.
Can I decide not to pay my own pension contribution?
Yes, you can. Five years prior to reaching the state pension age, you stop paying your own pension contributions and decide to have your employer-paid contribution paid out as a supplement to your salary. This needs to be agreed with your pension fund.
