Your company collective agreement

We have reached an agreement with Danske Bank on the content of a new collective agreement for Danske Bank employees. If adopted by our members, it will be valid from 1 April 2025 and three years ahead.

Status on the negotiations

In the negotiations we have focused on securing real wages and a number of elements we call ”Plads til det hele liv” in Danish. When you are in a special situation in your private life, extra flexibility is needed. We succeeded on that”, Kirsten Ebbe Brich, says, and continues:

”We have reduced seniority requirement leave without salary, so it is available to much more. We have also agreed that part-time employees may combine part-time work for full weeks off. We also agree to formulate Danske Bank's approach to flexible working adjustment. The bank now has more freedom to take hours off in the flexible working choice bank (formerly known as Timebanken), and you may take holidays on days that matter to you”.

She says about the negotiations:

”We experienced a good and objective negotiating climate in a proper tone. But sometimes intense in areas where we did not see things as the same and because things were all getting worse in the last hours of the negotiations. It was also clear, however, that both parties had a constructive mind during the negotiations”.

As a member you will vote on the company collective agreement result from April 8 to April 30.

Highlights of the new agreement

Salary

Salary

The following salary increases have been agreed.

1. July 2025: 2,4 % for general pay increases

1. July 2026: 2,5 % for general pay increases

1. July 2027: 2,5 % for general pay increases

We were prepared to have a pool for individual salary. But we could not reach an agreement with the bank on the size of the poo and the distribution between the collective and individual pools.

The timebank will be replaced by 'fritvalgsbanken'

It will be easier to take time off at short notice in the future. Please notice that if you have a balance exceeding 320 hours, they will be paid out on 1 March 2026.

Better conditions for senior part-time employees

‎In Danske Bank, your working hours can now be reduced to a maximum of 60 percent of full-time working hours from your 60th birthday. This is better than the standard collective agreement.

This is a new feature in our collective agreement that you can choose to pool your time off for whole weeks instead of per day/week, for example so that you can use part-time for a long summer holiday.

Extended flexibility for special life situations

We have agreed with the bank to formulate Danske Bank's position on flexible work adaptation in situations where it is difficult to reconcile our private life with working life.

Right to place holidays at your discretion

In future, you will have the right to place two collectively agreed holidays on days of particular importance to you, taking into account the business's operations. This may be special religious, cultural or personal anniversaries.

On-call duty, call-out and consultation services

The agreements on on-call duty, call-out and consultation have been simplified to facilitate understanding and application. The changes are designed to ensure a better work-life balance and make it easier for all employees under collective agreements to exercise their rights.

Overall agreement: One agreement now applies to all employees under collective agreements in Denmark and it explicitly states that the agreement also applies to colleagues on job-based salary.

Simplification of concepts: Simplification of concepts of different types of call-out, where it was very difficult to distinguish between enquiries and consultations in the past. Inquiries have now been removed and all short clarifications are handled in future as consultations.

Definitions:

•Call: Tasks that require system login for solution.

•Consultations: Tasks that can be quickly completed without login

On-call duty: a maximum of 60 on-call duty, however, max. 720 hours per person per year, with the possibility of up to 80 on-call duty up to a maximum of 960 hours by appointment.

Notice must be given at least 48 hours in advance (previously 24 hours).

Remuneration: On-call duty is paid in cash per hour, and call-outs are remunerated at minimum hours and fixed amounts, which are adjusted in accordance with the increase resulting under collective agreement.

This part concerning on-call duty, call-out and consultation applies from 1 July 2025.

Dental insurance

During the term of the collective agreement, dental insurance has been subject to arbitration against Danske Bank. It has been terminated and hopefully we will get an agreement with the bank on how we get better insurance for the employees for the additional money that has been allocated for the purpose.

The standard collective agreement gives a price of DKK 1200 per employee for the dental insurance, which is higher than the current price.

Union representatives’ opportunity to meet new employees

The union representative can now meet new employees during working hours to inform them of his/her duties as a union representative.

A meeting can, for example, be planned in connection with an introduction to the workplace for new employees. It is voluntary for new employees whether they want to attend the meeting.

Employees on individual contracts

It was our great wish to include individual contract staff members in the negotiations. But the bank rejected this unequivocally for the argument that these circumstances must be agreed individually and not collectively.

At the moment, organisational meetings are held between Finance Denmark and Finansforbundet in relation to, if you as an employee withdraw from your individual contract and switch to the being employed under the company collective agreement. When the work has been completed, it will be incorporated into the company collective agreement.

We are still working extremely hard to improve the conditions for you who are employed on an individual contact basis and will continue to verbalise the terms of contract staff to Danske Bank.

If you are employed under an individual contract, the terms of your individual contract will apply instead of the company collective agreement. But because the collective agreement as a whole provides the framework for all employees of Danske Bank in Denmark, some of it also has an impact on you.

About the negotiations

In principle, all elements of a collective agreement are subject to negotiation every time we negotiate a new collective agreement. It is therefore also important to stress that a negotiation is also about retaining elements and goods.

Since we could not agree on the terms and conditions for changing the provisions, we are pleased to maintain, among other things:

Current increase in job based salary
Current pension rates
Severance payments for all terminated as at present
The size of Fritvalgsbank (previously called Timebanken)

Special terms for us at Danske Bank, which will continue in the new companycollective agreement

  • A higher holiday supplement 3.75 % (3.25 % for others in the financial sector)
  • Higher company pension contributions
  • Better conditions for a child's illness and hospitalisation – up to two weeks (up to five days for others in the financial sector)
  • TR may participate in the preparation of action plans (in case of warnings, for instance)
  • Pay while complying with rest periods (11-hour rule)
  • Better remuneration of additional work, if you are not on job based salary
  • Better conditions for part-time work with Danske Bank than in the rest of the financial sector

Other terms and conditions retained

  • Five care days for everyone, whether you have children or grandchildren
  • Up to 2 weeks' time off in case of a sick child
  • Dental insurance
  • Longer parental leave for all
4 additional days off each year (Ascension day, 5 June and 24 and 31 December)

Other collective agreement questions

Who will vote on the VOK?

All members of Finansforbundet i Danske Bank.

For whom does the VOK apply for?

This applies to all employees under the company collective agreement at Danske Bank in Denmark.

If you are employed under an individual contract, the terms of your individual contract will apply instead of the company collective agreement.

But because the collective agreement as a whole provides the framework for all employees of Danske Bank in Denmark, some of it also has an impact on you.

When does the VOK apply from?

If the members vote yes to the agreement, the agreement will apply from 1 April 2025 and three years ahead. The agreement will therefore apply retroactively if a result is achieved after that date.
