Legal Advice On Student Jobs
Illness, sick pay, salary and working hours. Learn more about your rights and options if you are employed in a student job.
As a student, you can freely use Finansforbundet’s legal advice, where lawyers and other specialists are ready to advise you on legal matters before, during, and after your employment in a student job.
We know the finance and IT sector, and the legislation around it. So we can provide you with specialised advice.
What can I get advice about?
- The employment contract. This applies to both student jobs and your first full-time job.
- Terms of employment, working hours, conflicts on the job, etc.
- Illness, holiday, and sick pay
- Social conditions such as parental leave
- Resignation and termination
- Other matters relating to employment law
It makes no difference whether or not you are employed under Finansforbundet’s collective agreement.
We of course know our own collective agreement in detail, but in terms of legal advice and assistance, we can certainly help you even if you are employed on different terms.
Yes, our lawyers can read through your contract and contact you with feedback on whether you can sign it with confidence or whether you need to go back to your employer and negotiate the terms.
You can send the employment agreement to us at raadgivning@finansforbundet.dk, and then we will contact you when we have looked into your case.

There is a difference between whether you are employed according to a collective agreement or whether you are employed on individual terms where the employer and employee can more freely agree on the salary.
We can advise you on your specific case, if you call us at 3266 1330 or send your employment contract to raadgivning@finansforbundet.dk.
You can also get good advice and coaching on salary negotiations or read more about how to negotiate salary.

It depends on how you are employed. If you are employed according to a collective agreement, your salary and working hours are often agreed upon in advance. If you are employed outside of a collective agreement, it depends on what is agreed upon in your individual contract.
If you send your employment contract to us at raadgivning@finansforbundet.dk, we can advise you on your specific case.
The first thing you need to do is remind your former employer.
If your employer still does not pay, you can send an email to raadgivning@finansforbundet.dk. Our lawyers can then help you get the holiday pay you are entitled to.
And how long do you have parental leave?
It depends on how you are employed.
We can advise you on your specific case if you send your employment contract to us at raadgivning@finansforbundet.dk so we can investigate your circumstances.
You can also see the unemployment benefit period with our parental leave calculator, and you can also contact our social advisors at 3266 1330.
