Part time leave: See your options and rights
See your part time options if you have small children, are over 60 years of age or want to make use of the common leave options.
In the latest collective bargaining, we agreed with Danske Bank that employees from the year they reach 60 may hold senior part-time days as full weeks or optional days.
This means that you can take up to 50 days off annually.
How to use it
It is quite simple.
️➡ Go to your leader and tell him or her that you want to make an agreement to use this scheme
️➡ Use code 0349 in Zalaris
Bonusinfo
-
You are deducted from salary at the day you use the scheme
Specifically, the salary reduction is 4.8% for each senior part-time off taken
-
You do not have to take advantage of all 50 days
-
At the end of the year, any remaining balance will be reset, and you will be assigned 50 new days to use
Other possibilities for reduced working hours for senior staff
The new option is a supplement to the existing scheme for employees aged 60 and over
If you are over 60 years old, you have the right to have your working hours reduced to 60 percent compared to a full-time employment.
For example, this may result in reduced daily working hours, a recurring weekly day off or another scheme that suits you best.
Under these schemes, your salary will be adjusted in advance by the agreed percentage.
Following dialogue with the local union representative, the local management may oppose a given person entering the senior part-time scheme whose responsibilities and business volume (e.g. customer, management and/or operational considerations) are not compatible with entering the scheme.
Employees on individual contracts are typically not entitled to senior part-time unless otherwise agreed separately in the contract.
Summary
So to sum up:
There are three models for senior part-time:
- Time off in days or whole weeks (which is the new option), e.g. a week off or one day off from time to time
- Reduced daily working hours – e.g. one hour's shorter working hours each day
- Recurring day off – e.g. time off on Fridays
The difference between senior part-time and senior days
Please take into account that senior part-time is not the same as senior days.
Senior days are offered by Danske Bank to its employees and are not part of the collective agreement.
The five annual senior days are granted to all employees aged 60 or over
On leave from Danske Bank: Your other options
If you are not above 60, you have other options of taking leave of absence, too.
On leave
Generally, you are entitled to leave without salaryor pension contributions for up to six months (you must have been employed with Danske Bank for at least two years).
Other options in the collective agreement have also been agreed on leave, e.g. leave to care for a close relative or friend:
- Leave for seriously ill child
- Leave to care for disabled child
These leave forms are typically covered by employees on individual contract - unless otherwise stated in the contract.
Parental part-time
Parents of children under the age of 12 are entitled to enter into an agreement on reduced working hours for a limited period of time.
Employees on an individual contract are typically not entitled to part-time work for parents of small children, unless this is specifically agreed in the contract.
For all leave options, the local management, following dialogue with the local union representative, may oppose a given person coming on the scheme, whose responsibilities and business volume (e.g. customer, management and/or operational considerations) are not compatible with entering the scheme.
